Sarah Bennison, a Rugby League match Official, made history at the weekend as the first female to referee a full men's International fixture when she takes charge of Norway versus Germany in the Rugby League European Federation Shield in Lillestrom.
In fact, it's been a good few weeks all round for Sarah, as she's never been abroad before. On top of that, she refereed at a higher level than any other female official in this country the weekend before, when she worked at a Championship One game between Workington Town and Swinton.
Sarah initially hoped to become a football ref, but struggled to find opportunities. Rugby was more open, and she's enjoyed a lot of support:
"I've become the first female to referee a first team game and it was a big step and it's a big achievement. I must admit all the players and all the coaches were very supportive and they all praised me after the game so that was good and a nice feeling to have. I was thrown in the deep end a bit but I've been told it was a good performance."
Ever so often, a website or blog comes along that makes you stop and think. And that's exactly what happened when I heard about Dear Photograph.
Dear Photograph is a blog where you "take a picture of a picture from the past in the present". So if you've got a picture of you as a child on the swings, you'd go back to that same location, and hold the photo up for a new photo.
I love how the photos demonstrates how things can change, or occasionally how they haven't changed at all.
I'll definitely be looking through some of my old photos to send something to Dear Photograph.

Shirts are notoriously bad at fitting, especially if you're the owner of a large pair of assets. They either button up too high, too low or gape in the middle so everyone gets an eyeful of your bra. Classy.
However, one entrepreneur in America thinks she may have the answer. Rochelle Behrens used to work as a Washington lobbyist, but grew irritated by the flimsy shirts she had to wear for work. So she quit and designed her own!
She's actually created several shirts, in an assortment of colours. The classic shirt on the right is my personal favourite.
Fancy a holiday? Course you do! The thing is, the recession has put a stop to that for a lot of us, since they sit at the luxurious end of the spending scale.
However, if you are desperate for a trip away but only have a small budget, you might want to check out Voyage Prive and LastMinute.com.
Voyage Prive is the sister site of private sale sites Vente Privee, and applies a similar format. It's always got a number of holidays on sale, with discounts ranging from 20%-70%. Last year, I stayed in the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris for a third of the price you'd usually pay, so it's really worth checking out.
Lastminute.com does exactly what it says on the tin, and it's particularly good for city breaks. Take advantage of last minute deals to Prague, Paris or Dublin and use the money you've saved to take advantage of the shops !
"The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge were spotted getting onto a Royal Canadian Air Force plane at Heathrow only hours ago, bound for Ottawa to start their 11-day trip, which will take them through Canada and on to California.
Kate's already been spotted in a beautiful navy dress, and she arrived in a lace dress. Probably not the best outfit for a long flight, but you can't fault her when she looks that good.
An email from Carolyn Bourne to her potential daughter-in-law is currently doing the rounds - and it's a doozy. Carolyn sent Heidi Withers an email after she came to stay for a couple of days with her fiancee (and Carolyn's stepson) Freddie, listing all the ways she was rude or demonstrated bad manners.
I kinda agree with some of her points. If it's true that Heidi discussed a castle wedding, despite not being in a position to contribute to the costs, then it's a bit tasteful. And I'd be a little bit annoyed if someone came to stay but refused to get up at the same sort of time as everyone else.
But some of Carolyn's demands are outdated, and in some instances, truly bizarre. Who doesn't accidentally put there foot in it with the in-laws at some point or other? Carolyn's issue with Heidi's taste in food just seems petty to me.
Below is some of the original email. Do you think she overreacted, or did she have some valid points?
Anna Paquin, star of vampire series True Blood, has admitted she faces a lot of "prejudice" because she's bisexual.
The Oscar-winning actress, who has also starred in X Men and She's All That (remember the funky little sister of Freddie Prince Jnr?) is married to Stephen Moyer, her co-star in 'True Blood'. Previously, she revealed she is attracted to both men and women but is hoping the more people who come out as bisexual, the less judgemental people will become.
She said: "Frankly no one had ever asked me about being bisexual before. There is a lot of prejudice against us but the more people talk about it, the less of a deal it will be. Who people choose to sleep with or spend their lives with shouldn't matter, not that anyone particularly cares who I'm attracted to."
Do you think there's still a large amount of prejudice against those who come out as bisexual?
Britain's latest successful export Russell and 'Saturday Night Live' star Kristen have been voted the sexiest vegetarians by PETA.
The PETA website stated: "These sexy veggie-loving celebs have captured the hearts of many with their comedic charm and compassionate choices.
"Both of these hilarious hotties know that there's nothing funny about the abuse endured by animals raised for food on factory farms. These sexy stars prove that being vegetarian helps a person shine from the inside out."
Russell hasn't eaten meat since he was 14, while Kristen maintains a strict vegetarian diet, and only lets herself eat treats one day of the week. The pair replace actress Olivia Wilde and celebrity fitness trainer Bob Harper, who won the award last year.
